Hockey This Week Mock Draft is also listed at The NHL Mock Draft Database.

1. Edmonton Oilers : Nail Yakupov LW Sarnia OHL

No drama, barring a last minute trade, Yakupov will be a Oiler.

2. Columbus Blue Jackets – Ryan Murray D Everett WHL

Thought Forsberg here initially with Nash likely to go before the draft, but the hiring of Craig Hartsburg gives it away. Murray to Columbus.

3. Montreal Canadians – Filip Forsberg RW Leksand SEL

Girgorenko has seen his stock slip in the past few days, the Habs adding the very talented Forsberg will be a big upgrade, even if they have to wait a year for him.

4. New York Islanders – Mikhail Grigorenko RW/C QMJHL

Garth Snow is a hell of a poker player. I think they take Grigorenko here as he has the ability and talent to be the best player from this draft. Wouldn’t be surprised by Galchenyuk either.

5. Toronto Maple Leafs – Alex Galchenyuk C Sarnia OHL

There have been some questions about Galchenyuk, especially from ISS, but the consensus is he’s too good to pass up. Brian Burke needs a talent upgrade, Galchenyuk is his guy.

6. Anaheim Ducks – Matt Dumba D Red Deer WHL

Dumba is likely the 2nd defenseman off the board. Has the talent to be the best D from this class, and that’s saying something

7. Minnesota Wild – Griffin Reinhart D Edmonton WHL

Reinhart has tremendous size and a developing offensive skills. Scouts say they see Chris Pronger in his game.

8. Carolina Hurricanes – Morgan Reilly D Moose Jaw WHL

Carolina gets the offensive defenseman they covet so in Reilly. Originally thought Trouba here but Reilly is on the rise.

9. Winnipeg Jets – Teuvo Teravainen RW Jokerit FINEL

Whoever takes Teravainen is going to get a super talented player. Size is only concern.

10. Tampa Bay Lightning – Jacob Trouba D USHL

Trouba is a big do it all defenseman. Yzerman will have the makings of a nice defensive core with Victor Hedman and Jacob Trouba.

11. Washington Capitals – Cody Ceci D Ottawa OHL

Can’t see the Caps passing on the very talented Ceci.

12. Buffalo Sabres – Radek Faksa LW Kitchener OHL

Faksa is the 6th forward taken here, and the only reason it’s at 12 is the amount of blue line talent in front of him. Faksa’s the real deal.

13. Dallas Stars – Olli Maata D London OHL

Maybe the most NHL ready defenseman available (after Murray).

14. Calgary Flames – Sebastian Collberg RW Frolunda SEL

Collberg is a project, but could reap high rewards. Calgary can wait this kid out.

15. Ottawa Senators – Matt Finn D Guelph OHL

Still think Ottawa takes the solid Matt Finn at 15.

16. Washington Capitals – Brendan Gaunce C Belleville OHL

Caps take the physical Ganuce. There is some question about how much he’ll score at the next level, but he’s way too good not to take a chance on.

17. San Jose Sharks –Thomas Wilson RW Plymouth OHL

Wilson has tons of raw talent.  Big boy who loves to play physical. Could become a very good player down the road.

18. Chicago Blackhawks –Slater Koekkoek D Peterborough OHL

Koekkoek is coming off an injury, but is a tremendous skater and has an offensive flair to his game.

19. Tampa Bay Lightning – Hampus Lindholm D Rogle SEL

Steve Yzerman continues to build his defense talent pool. Lindholm doesn’t have the upside of some defensemen in this 1st round, but he’ll be a solid second paring guy.

20. Philadelphia Flyers – Scott Laughton C Oshawa OHL

Still feel Flyers take the gritty Laughton. He has Flyers written all over him.

21. Buffalo Sabres –  Derrick Pouliot D Portland WHL

Pouliot is a Brian Campbell type defenseman. With Christian Ehrhoff and Tyler Myers as your top D, Pouliot has time to develop.

22. Pittsburgh Penguins –  Pontus Aberg LW Djurgarden SEL

What better place for a secondary scorer to land then the team with the top 2 centers in the world.

23. Florida Panthers – Nicholas Kerdiles C USHL

Kerdiles is a scorer who seems to get better the bigger the situation. Will be nice addition to team with the top farm system in the NHL.

24. Boston Bruins – Henrik Samuelsson RW Edmonton WHL

Big physical winger who can score…sounds like a Bruin to me.

25. St. Louis Blues –Zemgus Girgensons C USHL

Girgensons would be a huge steal for the Blues at 25. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him gone in the 15-20 range. Talented kid.

26. Vancouver Canucks – Dalton Thrower D Saskatoon WHL

Thrower’s stock has been on the rise, but the physical defenseman won’t be around for pick 27.

27. Phoenix Coyotes –Colton Sissions C Kelwona WHL

Sissions is a player who outworks his opponents. Game resembles Ryan Callahan.

28. New York Rangers – Oscar Dansk G Brynas SEJL

This pick most likely will be traded in a package for a scorer. But with a deep prospect pool, need to start looking for the future in goal. Dansk will be a good one.

29. New Jersey Devils – Malcom Subban G Belleville OHL

Can’t see any reason Devils don’t take a goalie here. Subban was very impressive at the Combine.

30. Los Angeles Kings – Ludvig Bystrom D Modo SEL

Bystrom is a gift for the Stanley Cup champs at 30. Solid player.
