Hockey This Week Mock Draft is also listed at The NHL Mock Draft Database.

1.Edmonton Oilers : Nail Yakupov LW Sarnia OHL

No Change here, Edmonton takes the consensus number 1. Though, Ryan Murray makes the most sense for them.

2. Columbus Blue Jackets – Filip Forsberg RW Leksand SEL

With the imminent trade of Rick Nash and the acquisition of Jack Johnson at the deadline, Forsberg makes sense for GM Scott Howson here.

3. Montreal Canadians : Mikhail Grigorenko RW Quebec QMJHL

People think Grigorenko slides out of the top 5, I don’t see it. Way too talented for a team not to take a chance on. Grigorenko would be a huge offensive upgrade for the Habs.

4. New York Islanders – Ryan Murray D Everett WHL

Murray is exactly what the Islanders need. A top pairing defenseman to go with their already impressive collection of young D. Isles like Dumba a lot, but Murray is a no brainer.

5. Toronto Maple Leafs – Alex Galchenyuk C Sarnia OHL

Galchenyuk is that elite scorer Brian Burke needs so desperately. He’s an injury risk, but Burke needs to hit a home run here after losing out on Tyler Seguin and Dougie Hamilton the past 2 drafts.

6. Anaheim Ducks – Matt Dumba D Red Deer WHL

Ducks have a ton of young defenseman, but Dumba has a chance to be something special.

7. Minnesota Wild – Griffin Reinhart D Edmonton WHL

Wild fans are going to love this kid. Should turn out to be a fan favorite.

8.Carolina Hurricanes – Jacob Trouba D USHL

Trouba will be as good on D as Jeff Skinner is on offense.

9. Winnipeg Jets – Teuvo Teravainen RW Jokerit FINEL

Teravainen is small, but has great offensive tools. Will look good up front with 2011 1st rounder Mark Scheifele.

10. Tampa Bay Lightning – Morgan Reilly D Moose Jaw WHL

Steve Yzerman hits a home run here with Reilly. Reilly and Hedman will be a dominant paring for a long time.

11. Washington Capitals – Cody Ceci D Ottawa OHL

Caps have 2 picks and go with the talented Ceci with the pick acquired for Semyon Varlamov.

12. Buffalo Sabres – Radek Faksa LW Kitchener OHL

Faksa has been racing up the charts, Buffalo (also the owners of 2 1st rounders) take him here.

13. Dallas Stars – Olli Maata D London OHL

Maata had a tremendous playoff and is a solid pick here in a first round loaded with high end defenseman.

14. Calgary Flames – Sebastian Collberg RW Frolunda SEL

Collberg is a great pickup for Calgary at 14. Has been compared with Jeff Skinner.

15. Ottawa Senators – Matt Finn D Guelph OHL

No change, Finn fits nicely on the Sens blue line a year or so.

16. Washington Capitals – Brendan Gaunce C Belleville OHL

Caps like grit, Gaunce is your guy. Big boy who loves to play physical. Style compares to David Backes.

17. San Jose Sharks – Pontus Aberg LW Djurgarden SEL

Aberg has breakaway speed and a goal scorers touch, could look very good with Joe Thornton.

18. Chicago Blackhawks – Derrick Pouliot D Portland WHL

Pouliot is a Brian Campbell type defenseman. Strong skater who runs a good power play. Needs to get stronger.

19. Tampa Bay Lightning – Hampus Lindholm D Rogle SEL

Lightning get second defenseman of the round and get a good one in Lindholm. Doesn’t have the upside of Reilly, but can be a strong 3-4 defensman.

20. Philadelphia Flyers – Scott Laughton C Oshawa OHL

Laughton was born to be a Flyer, fans will love his game.

21. Buffalo Sabres – Slater Koekkoek D Peterborough OHL

Sabres get a wild card in Koekkoek, needs to work on decision making, but has a very good upside.

22. Pittsburgh Penguins – Thomas Wilson RW Plymouth OHL

Wilson is a big boy who needs to work on his skating. At worst, could become a bottom 6 NHL forward. If he reaches potential, think Ryane Clowe

23. Florida Panthers – Colton Scissions C Kelwona WHL

Panthers take the all around player in Scissions. Not he toolsey player Tallon usually looks for, but every winning team needs a player like Scissions.

24. Boston Bruins – Henrik Samuelsson RW Edmonton WHL

Son of Ulf will be a nice addition to the Bruins seemingly endless supply of young talented players.

25. St. Louis Blues – Nicholas Kerdiles C USHL

Kerdiles drops because of his skating, but this kid has a nose for the net. With fellow USA born Backes, Shattenkirk and TJ Oshie, Kerdiles will fit right in.

26. Vancouver Canucks – Dalton Thrower D Saskatoon WHL

Thrower may not make it to Vancouver at 26, but I can assure you, he wont make it past it.

27. Phoenix Coyotes – Zemgus Girgensons C USHL

Who better to tudor a Shane Doan type player, than Shane Doan. Needs skating work, but has 2 way potential and leadership abilities.

28. New York Rangers – Oscar Dansk G Brynas SEJL

Let face it, Henrik Lunqvist wont be around forever. Dansk could be the next best Swedish goaltender for the Rangers. Will have plenty of time to prepare and develop in the SEL

29. New Jersey Devils – Malcom Subban G Belleville OHL

With Martin Brodeur reaching the end of his amazing career, the Devils hold on this pick for one reason, Subban.

30. Los Angeles Kings – Ludvig Bystrom D Modo SEL

The talent laden Kings, take the very talented and lost in the shuffle Bystrom at 30. Any other year, Bystrom is taken 15-25.
